1 Kings 8:63 "And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the Lord, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep." (KJV). 1 Kings 8:64 "The same day did the King hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the Lord: for there he offered burnt offerings and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brazen altar that was before the Lord was too little to receive the burnt offerings and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings. 1 Kings 8:5 "And King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the Ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude." (KJV) Note: The Good News Bible begins this verse with "King Solomon and all the people of Israel…" These figures seem to be quite impossible, but now I wonder. Akhenaten was Amenhotep IV when he came to the throne. So he was also known as SalimAmen to the Israelites of Egypt. When he built his new city of Akhetaten he went overboard with temples and offering tables. Just look at the following map - click on the image to enlarge and examine it. Attachments:
