Genesis 45:8 “So now [it was] not you [that] sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.” (King James Version)
This has to be one of the strongest clues we have in identifying who any biblical figure could have been in history.
There would just have to be some mention in Egyptian records of such an important man, and a man who was a member of the Royal Family.
And there is:
Only one tomb has been found in Egypt which says that this was a father to a king. It is that of Yuya who was found buried with the Kings. The inscription reads - " ‘it ntr n nb tawi’, the holy father of the Lord of the Two Lands (Pharaoh’s formal title). It occurs once on one of Yuya’s ushabti (royal funeral statuette No. 51028 in the Cairo Museum catalogue) and more than twenty times on his funerary papyrus.”
We can tell from his very name 'YUYAH' that this Egyptian Lord worshipped the Semite god 'YAH' or 'IAH'. Not only that but the first two letters tell us that he was of the 'IU' persuasion, a word that Gerald Massey believes to be the origin of the name 'JEW'.
(Explanation of hieroglyphs in Cartouche: The two Water Reed glyphs on the left are "YY" which is plural and therefore "YW" - pronounced 'IU'. The Quail Chick confirms the 'W' sound. Then another Water Reed - Y and finally a Vulture which is a glottal stop and pronounced something like 'Ah' or 'Uh')
Yuya's features are not like the general run of Egyptians and experts think that he may have been Syrian or Mittanian or even Cretan.
